Playful Energy at Centennial Beach
There’s something special about a fall afternoon at Centennial Beach — even when the sky is a little grey. Trudy’s late September family session proved that sunshine isn’t a requirement for a fun and joy-filled shoot!
Normally, I don’t schedule beach sessions this late in the season because it can get chilly and windy, but we lucked out with a calm, peaceful day. The muted sky actually made for beautifully soft light, and the cool tones suited this energetic family of four perfectly.
Trudy wanted her boys to have the freedom to just be kids — to play, explore, and laugh their way through the session. So, that’s exactly what we did. We played every game in my book (and a few impromptu ones too!), which was ideal for her energetic, adventurous boys. There were sticks and rocks to be found, thrown, and skipped into the water, and plenty of races down the beach.
As always, my favourite moments came from the laughter — the giggles, the goofy faces, and the moments of connection that happen in between the chaos. (We definitely nailed the “5 Nice, 5 Silly” shots!)
I’m so thrilled with how this session turned out. Even without a golden sunset, we captured everything that matters most: love, fun, and a family just being themselves.
