This fall, I had the pleasure of photographing Audrey for her youth headshot session, and it was such a treat to see her again outside the theatre world. I first met Audrey through Theatre Under the Stars, where she performed as an Oompa Loompa in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory this past summer. My son played Charlie, and the whole young cast bonded in the most wonderful way – long rehearsals, shared nerves, big laughs, and a love of performing will do that! Audrey was one of the many kids who became part of that little theatre family, and I know my son has made some lifelong, theatre-loving friends among them.

At her session, Audrey arrived with her mom and younger sister, and the three of them were really lovely to work and chat with – warm, relaxed, and so supportive of Audrey. Audrey herself was quiet and thoughtful, with the kind of gentle confidence that shows up beautifully on camera. But don’t let her calm presence fool you: this young performer is incredibly talented. Along with her theatre experience, she trains and performs with Arts Umbrella and is also a skilled figure skater – truly a multi-disciplinary artist in the making.

Youth headshot sessions are such a fun way to capture these evolving chapters, especially because kids change so quickly from year to year.
